Halloween 2018 was celebrated at the Children’s Center at ABVI on Thursday 10/25/2018 with 33 guests in attendance! We had nine families with 22 children wearing really neat costumes. It must be the year of the Unicorn, as we had 4 unicorns ages 2, 4, 6, and 10. Due to the inability for everyone to stand still at one time, a group unicorn photo was not successful, but I did manage to get individual shots with only the 4 year old’s photo being blurry.
There were a variety of activities that included decorating pumpkins, painting and coloring pictures, collages, foam ghost and witch cut outs, and balsa wood masks on paddles. Some children watched the audio described movie Monster’s University and other’s played with toys in the Children’s Center. As usual, the play kitchen was the hot spot for the younger children. It’s strange how pretending to cook and clean are so much fun until you need to transfer those skills to the real world.
There was pizza, popcorn, pretzels, goldfish crackers, brownies, cookies, cotton candy and juice to keep everyone’s energy up over the 2 and a half hours of the party. The fresh fruit offered didn’t stand a chance next to the other party food available.
Children left the party with the pumpkins they decorated, helium Halloween balloons, a Halloween goodie bag with small toys and a few pieces of candy. Parents and children all left having made new friends as well.
Thank you to everyone who attended!
