On October 11, Matt Smeltzer, a Career and Development Specialist at ABVI, will be running the Can Lake 50.
The money raised through this 50-mile run will go to the ABVI Empowerment Fund, which focuses on critical areas of transportation and children’s programs. This means that people who are blind or visually impaired and can’t drive to important appointments like eye doctor visits will be able to meet that challenge. And children who are blind or visually impaired will be able to participate in programs that teach them essential skills while also making friends and learning to explore their world safely.
"I want to dedicate my 50 mile run to a cause that I believe in. Working at ABVl, I have witnessed that this is an organization that truly cares about making a difference. Every one of my co-workers are committed to doing their jobs with integrity and passion. I can honestly say that I love working here!"
