Hanna Recktenwald: Social Work Intern
Title and time with the organization?
I am a Social Work Intern and have been with the organization since August 2021.
What made you interested in becoming an intern at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes?
I have always interned and worked at daycare centers and schools. With this internship for my Master’s degree I really wanted to expand my knowledge in an area that I had no knowledge about. I wanted to be pushed out of my comfort zone and learn new, exciting things that I could carry with me throughout my social work career.
What have you enjoyed the most so far about your time here at Goodwill?
I have enjoyed how I am challenged with this new area. Low vision is something that I had no clue even existed and I have learned so much since August. I have also enjoyed the welcoming people here in the Low Vision Center, they have been great and are always willing to help me.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I have a total of 5 siblings, the youngest being 6 and the oldest 26.
