Title and time you have been with the organization:
Good Neighbor Community Navigator II, I've been with Goodwill of the Finger Lakes since July 2020
What is your role here at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes?
In our newly implemented Good Neighbor Community Hubs it is my job to help anyone who comes in person or utilizes MyWayfinder to get them connected to the organizations and resources that they need to be self-sufficient and contribute positively to their community. Whether they need clothes or household items or help acclimating back into the workforce, we are here!
What do you enjoy most about working at Goodwill?
I applied for Goodwill in the first place because I wanted to be a part of an organization that not only gives back to their community but makes that central to their mission. I enjoyed my team in retail but look forward to interacting more directly with the people we are here to help in my new position in Good Neighbor!
What activities do you enjoy in your free time?/What is a fun fact about yourself?
I am a huge history buff. I enjoy watching documentaries and most of the reading I do is nonfiction. I’m currently reading a book on the Yalta conference at the end of WWII as well as a book on the assassination of President James Garfield. I’m always happy to discuss current events and to look at them through a historical lens!
Goodwill of the Finger Lakes is a not-for-profit organization supporting the Rochester and Syracuse area communities. Headquartered in Rochester, NY, Goodwill of the Finger Lakes along with Goodwill Vision Enterprises (formerly ABVI) have a very long and successful history of creating job opportunities and serving the community through the Good Neighbor program, 211/LIFE LINE, and our vision services. In addition, we have several Goodwill thrift store locations offering second-hand clothing for men, women, and children as well as home goods and other accessories.
