Goodwill of the Finger Lakes hosted our annual event, Sustainability Under the Stars, at the Rochester Museum and Science Center Strasenburgh Planetarium on September 15.
The community raised over $13,000 at this event that will support our community programs: 211/LIFE LINE, 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, Goodwill Vision Enterprises, and Good Neighbor.
In addition to a Sustainable Fashion Show “under the stars” using all items found at local Goodwill stores and upcycled by local designers, guests were encouraged to tell two family members or friends that Goodwill of the Finger Lakes gives away thousands of gently used items to individuals and families in need through its Good Neighbor program every year, and that 90 cents of every dollar spent at Goodwill’s retail stores gets reinvested back into the community through these community programs.
