Rochester, NY – Goodwill of the Finger Lakes announces the promotion of Mary Boland to the position of Director of Communications and Community Relations.
In her new role, Boland will continue to oversee marketing, Public Relations, and associated communications and community relations activities for the organization. She will also formally take on additional communications responsibilities for Goodwill and it’s mission brands. Specifically, she will be spearheading the organization's government affairs work, in addition to directing the roll out of updated branding guidelines and messaging, as well as working directly with Goodwill of the Finger Lakes President and CEO Gidget Hopf on important community initiatives.
“This is an exciting moment in the history of our organization and I am honored to be able to contribute to it through this new position,” said Boland.
Boland joined the organization in 2010 as the Special Events Liaison responsible for managing the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI)’s Centennial year activities. ABVI is a mission brand empowered by Goodwill of the Finger Lakes.
During her time with the organization, Boland has also worked to grow the Goodwill Good Neighbor Program, oversaw Goodwill’s Million Pound Challenge, and led the team that worked to streamline the creation and deployment of the organization’s marketing and communications materials while providing greater access to the available resources.
