ROCHESTER, NY – Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, a local not-for-profit providing services and programs that empower people to overcome barriers to independence, today announced the grand opening weekend for it’s first dedicated book store, located at 1250 Creek Street in Webster, NY.
The grand opening takes place on Saturday, February 15, and Sunday, February 16, 2020. The Goodwill Book Store is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
“The Goodwill Book Store is a new take for us on books and media,” says Jennifer Lake, President of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes. “We are curating the selection, sorting it by category, and alphabetizing it by author. You’ll find books on cooking, lifestyle, education and research, fiction, local authors, and more.”
According to Lake, the new Goodwill Book Store is furthering Goodwill’s commitment to supporting literacy in the community. “The tradition of supporting literacy efforts is long at Goodwill,” says Lake. “That is why at each Goodwill store children 15 years of age and younger may select one kid’s or young adult book to take home for free per day. There is no purchase necessary. All we ask is that you see a cashier before leaving to show him or her the book you chose.”
Goodwill Rewards Members can pick up a special Goodwill branded reusable tote bag during the event.
Shoppers to the new Goodwill Book Store will also be able to get an exclusive paisley reusable tote bag if they make a purchase of $10 or more during the Grand Opening Weekend.
Additionally, there is a donation center adjoining the Goodwill Book Store. This means that anyone who has clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares, small electronics, and yes, even books and media can donate them while also checking out the new store.
