8 Days to Halloween: Shop Now at Goodwill for Spooktacular Finds and Deals; Post Your Goodwill Costumes on Facebook and Instagram to Win a $25 Gift Card
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Halloween will look different this year in many ways, just as spending habits have changed, too, but dressing up (and decorating) for Halloween is still the plan for many families. That’s why right now is one of the busiest times of year at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, and the Organization has seen a 4.2% increase in shoppers in October, compared to last month. For good reason, too: Halloween costumes and décor are available in all Goodwill stores across the region for shoppers looking for great finds on a budget, with costumes starting at just $2, all while supporting the greater community.
Every dollar spent at Goodwill stores is reinvested in the community and supports the Organization’s mission programs: 211/LIFE LINE, ABVI and Job Readiness.
“Our amazing customers continue to come back to us, with traffic increasing by almost 20% since reopening in June, in large part to the tremendous generosity of our donors,” said Director of Donated Goods Retail Operations Dave Wiesner. “And, with the Halloween season in full swing, there is a lot of excitement over our unique, one of a kind costume pieces, especially around fantasy themes like dragons and fairies.”
All Goodwill of the Finger Lakes stores are back open and accepting customers. Store locations and hours can be found on the Goodwill website.
“Our Organization has been on the front lines throughout this pandemic,” Goodwill of the Finger Lakes CEO and President Jennifer Lake said. “We have answered nearly 70,000 211/LIFE LINE inquiries since March when this all started. We need the community support and we hope people will shop for Halloween at Goodwill. Through contributions to our organization, you’re doing your part to prepare and empower people with barriers to independence to be successful.”
Shoppers with great Halloween costume and decor finds are encouraged to post their photos on Instagram and/or Facebook, tagging @Goodwill_FLX and #GoodwillHalloween. GWFL is currently hosting a Halloween costume contest and participants that share the costume on their Instagram and/or Facebook, and tag GWFL are automatically entered to win a $25 gift card to Goodwill stores.
