211/LIFE LINE & 988

211/LIFE LINE and 988 are two resources, accessible to everyone, that provide prevention and intervention by simply dialing a 3-digit number. At Goodwill—not only do we change lives, but we help save lives, too.

211

211/LIFE LINE is here for everyone - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whenever you need guidance finding basic resources like food, clothing, or shelter. We also support people in crisis who are struggling with thoughts of suicide. Our experienced and compassionate tele-counselors are here to listen and to help.

Just dial 211 for free and confidential assistance connecting you to vital community resources. You can also reach our services by texting your ZIP code to 898-211, or using our online chat.

211/LIFE LINE is a community impact program of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes and is an accredited program through the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems and American Association of Suicidology.

  • experiencing any kind of emotional distress
  • worried about someone in distress

988 is more than just a number. It is a direct connection to compassionate and accessible care. When you call, text, or chat 988 you are connected to trained counselors that are part of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network.

988 is for everyone and it’s more than a ‘suicide’ line. 988 is for people of all ages, genders, sexes, ethnicities, races, religions, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses. If you are a Veteran or Spanish speaker, 988 has dedicated lines for you.
